The Sales Operations Manager role is responsible for keeping things running as smoothly and efficiently as possible behind the scenes. This role is crucial to the success of the sales team. Specifically, the SOM is responsible for reporting, CRM optimization, and improving the sales processes.

Requirements

  • Must have 5-7 years of operations and sales experience
  • Must have EdTech and startup experience
  • Must be proficient with Salesforce and have used Asana and Slack
  • Is a strategic thinker and quick decision maker
  • Enjoys creating systems and processes, and fine tuning them
  • Must be data driven and can use data to understand and solve problems
  • Must be productive and comfortable in a remote first environment, working in a fast paced environment with ambiguity
  • Understands the difference between good data and bad data and is laser focused on data integrity
  • Proven excellence in prioritizing projects and meeting deadlines and goals
  • Extremely organized and detail oriented
  • Strong analytic skills and proficiency in spreadsheets
  • Is happy being behind the scenes and focusing on all the details to keep the team performing at its best

Areas of Ownership

  • CRM management:
    • Owns SalesForce and CRM optimization, suggest improvements, navigates support, manages any consultants or engineers on a project management basis, and troubleshoots issues or sees that they are resolved in a timely manner by support or consultants
    • Trains new team members on how to use Salesforce
  • Managing the Sales Process:
    • Manages the remote / part-time lead generation team
    • Make sure each stage of the sales process is defined and that there is documentation for the team to reference, and everyone on the team is clear on the process
    • Fine tunes the above processes, always striving for efficiency and productivity
  • Managing the Sales Data:
    • Set up and maintain sales dashboards in Salesforce by rep for accurate real time updates on team members performance
    • Set up and maintain weekly KPI reports
    • Make sure that the sales division is measuring the right metrics and that all of our data is clean (targets to come from Director of Partnerships)

Must have

  • Experience with EdTech
  • Experience at a Startup
