The purpose of this role:
The role will manage all aspects of British Council Ukraine’s HR policies and practices, providing management and staff with guidance and services consistent with the British Council corporate policies and requirements of local Labour legislation on a range of HR issues
The role will help to facilitate the effectiveness of Director and Senior Leadership Team (SLT) in relationship management and day-to-day operations.
The role will support the Head of HR by providing operational HR expertise across the board to support efficient and effective business operations.

The role is a business critical one that requires experience in managing complex situations and people issues.
This role will ensure that the country approaches are consistent with global strategies, guiding principles, policies and procedures, processes and practices, and where necessary, adapt them to reflect local market needs and conditions, e.g. legal, regulatory, social and culture frameworks. The global CoE (Centre of Expertise)’s include:
Location: Kyiv Ukraine, but can temporarily be Western Ukraine or Warsaw
Contract type: 2 years fixed term with a possibility of extension
Requirements: Candidates must have the right to work and live in Ukraine. If Warsaw is a preferred temporary location, then permit to live and work in Poland is required additionally.

The role reports to Head of HR Ukraine and will work closely with other members of the regional HR team, who provide senior HR expertise to the region. The role holder will act as a trusted advisor in the country.
External stakeholders include;
Main Accountabilities:
Managing delivery of all stages of recruitment process for full time and temporary staff for all three entities; Implementing of Regional and Global recruitment strategy and principals.
Supervision of induction programmes for new BC staff including Teaching Centre staff, interns and temporary assistants; Working together with Head of HR under further development of induction programme to better fit the needs of employee and employer.
Supervising the process of Teaching Centre expatriate personnel legal employment in Ukraine (obtaining work permit, residence permit) with support from other colleagues in HR department and under supervision of HR Manager and overview of Head of HR. Working closely with external outsourcing company on all stages of expatriate personnel employment compliance; Supervising the delivery of all HR administrative functions (including recruitment, staff annual and sick leave records, process of staff joining/ leaving, mandatory trainings) ensuring compliance to local legislation and corporate standards and requirements and best practices for all three entities;
Manage with high level of accuracy the process of collecting and delivery of all HR related data and documents to the Payroll outsourcing company;
Providing support to Head of HR in developing, analyses and delivery of annual country training plan; Participating in internal training development;
