Senior Project Assistant (Web and Graphic Design) at IOM

Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission and the Emergency and Stabilization (E&S) Programme Coordinator, and the direct supervision of the Programme Support Officer, the successful candidate will support the Unit’s  efforts to provide affordable housing, as well as other humanitarian, development and peacebuilding activities.

Core Functions / Responsibilities:

1. Provide specialized support for the effective development, coordination and implementation of the Housing Project’s outreach strategies, including managing the Housing Project online platform (in coordination with the governmental partners) and graphic design of outreach materials.
2. Accordingly, contribute to the development and further management, updating and maintenance of the Housing Project online platform, which simultaneously serves as a feedback channel for beneficiaries of the Housing Project and the affected communities.
3. Coordinate the development of the online platform, printed/online informational materials, leaflets brochures, translating the technical and legal requirements into simple and understandable wordings. Ensure compliance with IOM and donor visibility rules.
4. Provide support to the Helpdesk, which will be established within the framework of the project to provide feedback to potential and selected beneficiaries of the Housing Project.
5. In coordination Project Supervisory Board, liaise with focal points in government and local communities, elaborate the awareness raising events on the grievance mechanism within the communities.
6. Participate in the elaboration of stakeholders’ liaising mechanism under the purposes of the Project.
7. Contribute to the E&S Unit’s operational outreach efforts, including the development of project-related visual materials/tools, beneficiary communication and feedback materials, reports, briefs and other
8. In coordination with the PLPD unit, work on Housing Project’s and E&S Unit’s institutional communications and interaction with the press and, as needed, support the PLPD in developing Mission-level communication strategies and products
9. Undertake duty travel as required to promote Project initiatives.
10. Contribute to regular reporting (IOM internal, IOM external, UN-related, including 3W/5W and situation reporting), correspondence, publication and presentation materials.
11. Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Education

• High school degree or equivalent with 6 years of relevant working experience.

OR

• Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Web-Development, Graphic Design or a related field from an accredited academic institution with at least four years of relevant professional experience.

Experience

• Proven experience in web-development;
• Experience in graphic and web design;
• Experience working with online databases;
• Experience working with Ukrainian government authorities and civil society;
• Knowledge of housing sector and context is advantageous;
• Experience in working in eastern Ukraine is a plus;
• Experience in developing and operating the web pages;
• Backend design;
• HTML, CSS, JavaScript and PHP or any other relevant language.

Languages

Fluency in English, Ukrainian and Russian is required.
