Background:

The OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine is looking for highly qualified, motivated and experienced Ukrainian professionals for the position of Senior Social Media Assistant with its Head Office in Kyiv. Tasks and Responsibilities:

Under the direct supervision of the Chief of Press and Public Information Unit, the Senior Social Media Assistant provides expert advice on social media to the Press and Public Information Unit (PPIU) and develops, implements and maintains social media communication initiatives; acts as a focal point for the social media presence of the Mission and is the main interface between the Mission and social media audiences; provides advice and suggestions on advantageous social media activities and executes the Mission’s social media activities; regulates and oversees all Mission social media accounts; conducts analysis of SMM’s coverage in media and social media, and supports mission leadership in social media activities.

The incumbent is responsible for the following duties:

1.    Maintaining OSCE SMM social media channels and in cooperation with Multimedia Assistant and other PPIU staff produces informational and multimedia content;
2.    Developing a content plan for the OSCE SMM social media pages and implements it in coordination with other team members;
3.    Looking for new and innovative ways to promote the Mission via online media, including through proposing new online presences; developing and managing editorial and multimedia projects (infographics, feature articles, photo stories, web campaigns) for publication on the Mission’s online presences;
4.    Conducting media and social media monitoring on a regular basis and informs the PPIU and senior management about any urgent developments;
5.    Monitoring and analyzing the Mission’s online presence and proposes changes in content following indications and trends; monitors the use of the Mission’s pages, responds to user queries and channels other queries to relevant colleagues; provides advice and support to Mission members for online personal security; researches and shares best practices;
6.    Maintaining content and structure of the Mission’s pages on the OSCE public website according to communication and editorial policies; drafts and edits content (texts, photos, web stories, documents and multimedia) for online publication;
7.    Ensuring update of Mission pages and online content in local languages when translations are available and provides translations for content as necessary; performs administrative functions on social media tools and accounts;
8.    Providing support to media, public relations and outreach activities;
9.    Performing other tasks as assigned.

Necessary Qualifications: 

The candidates should have the following minimum qualifications:

•    Ukrainian citizenship or holding permanent resident status in Ukraine;
•    Completed secondary education supplemented by specialized studies in Communication or Journalism/Media;
•    Minimum 6 years’ relevant work experience in professional writing, news monitoring, social media management, journalism or related field;
•    Computer literate with practical experience in Microsoft Office applications, knowledge of Oracle applications desirable;
•    Professional fluency in the English, Ukrainian and Russian languages, both oral and written;
•    Computer literate with practical experience in Microsoft Office applications, solid knowledge of Excel Spreadsheets, Pivot Tables and Power Point; knowledge of Oracle-based applications desirable;
•    Demonstrated ability and willingness to work as a member of a team, with people of different cultural and religious backgrounds, different gender, and diverse political views, while maintaining impartiality and objectivity;
•    Demonstrated gender awareness and sensitivity, as well as the ability to integrate a gender perspective into tasks and activities;
•    Flexibility and ability to work under pressure and with limited time frames.

Remuneration Package:

Monthly remuneration, subject to social security deductions is 1225.00 Euro/month. Social benefits will include participation in the Cigna health insurance scheme.
