Description

New Energy Nexus (NEX) is the world’s leading ecosystem of funds and accelerators supporting diverse clean energy entrepreneurs to thrive. We started in Silicon Valley and now operate an ecosystem of programs and partners across 10 countries. Our goal is to support 100,000 entrepreneurs by 2030 – a solutions movement that benefits 100% of the population in the shortest time possible.

We’re looking for a highly experienced administrative professional to lead the HR team. The role is the most senior HR role in our organization and is a thought partner to the COO. Thus HR strategy, leadership, and management experience is required. The Global HR Director will oversee NEX hiring, professional employer organizations (PEOs) in over 10 countries, as well as our market expansion into new geographies, supporting a globally distributed workforce of 100+. This position will have two HR Managers as direct reports and report to the COO. The Global HR Director is expected to be the organization’s lead resource to source and analyze reliable authoritative information and relevant context to enable the company’s sound decision making pertaining to employment laws and HR compliance in every market we operate.

Requirements

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic HR Leadership (60%)

  • Direct global HR Administration, Compensation, Benefits & Rewards, Performance Management, Talent Management & Talent Acquisition.
  • Develop and work with relevant internal key stakeholders in the delivery of key HR projects including policy and process reviews, employee engagement surveys, people development programs, change management plans.
  • Oversee and direct the development of HR systems and processes and drive improvements to internal HR processes, systems and communications towards enhancing employee experience.
  • Develop and execute NEX HR roadmap and engagement plan.
  • Manage two HR Managers as direct reports in the USA and Philippines.

 

 

 

Policy Architecture & Governance (20%):

  • Oversee the implementation of all HR governance policies and strategies such as the guidelines on HR compliance & governance, handling grievances, labour policies and legislation across the organisation.
  • Oversee investigations, findings and provide suggestions for improvement, interpretation of HR policies and procedures, employment and legislation.
  • Provide advice to employees and manage the relationship & events pertaining to industrial relations, employee grievances, conduct and discipline.

 

Learning & Development (10%)

  • Plan and manage the training and development opportunities for employees to grow and advance in their respective roles.
  • Assist the COO in designing and implementing learning & development tools to empower hiring managers and leaders at NEX.
  • Ensure Justice, Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion practices and principles are embedded throughout NEX and champion these principles in the hiring process.

 

South East Asia HR Operations (10%)

  • Manage HR operations for staff in India, Vietnam, and Singapore, including hiring of new staff, offer letters, payroll processing, new hire packages, and ensuring compliance.
  • Ensure efficient HR operations of a virtual office, including staff equipment such as laptops, liaison with external vendors to respond to staff service needs and questions as they arise.
  • Assist with planning and implementation of office events, meetings, and staff training in these geographies.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum Qualifications

  • 10 – 15+ years of global HR experience with the most recent role being a senior management position.
  • Prior experience in managing compliance with employment laws and a proven track record of HR compliance issue resolutions without unexpected adverse events to the employer.
  • Commitment to a culture of HR compliance issue prevention within an articulated HR risk appetite framework of an employer PEO organization.
  • Comfort articulating ideas and vision to senior executives, but also willing to roll up sleeves and get day to day operations done.
  • Experience building and leading a team with the ability to work independently for a global organization with different locations and time zones.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Psychology, Business
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with HR systems, programs, and analyzing for providing useful information and support to managers and staff.
  • Experience in designing and implementing employee development plans.
  • Experience and ability to provide solid advice and guidance to managers and staff on any number of policies and HR related matters.
  • Knack for creative resource-efficient problem solving along with action-orientation.
  • Experience with and passion for Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion principles.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in designing fair, globally applicable compensation policies.
  • Passionate about energy and climate startups and innovation!
  • Experience working in a small organization with a globally distributed workforce.

Benefits

This is a full-time remote position. Relocation assistance is not available. Compensation is competitive for the market the candidate is based in.
