STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
The incumbent serves as a Locally Employed Staff (LES) Investigator, responsible for conducting investigative work in the USAID Office of Inspector General, Office of Investigations (OIG/I), in the Kyiv, Ukraine office. The incumbent, who works under the direction of either the Assistant Special Agent in Charge (ASAC) or the Special Agent in Charge (SAC) in Washington, D.C., has duties and responsibilities that are designed to support the investigative program of the OIG/I Kyiv office within the Latin America, Europe, and Asia Division. The mission of OIG is to promote and preserve the efficiency, effectiveness, and integrity of USAID. To that end, the OIG/I Kyiv office is primarily responsible for receiving allegations and conducting inquiries, and investigating allegations or matters of possible fraud, waste, and abuse in the USAID programs in Ukraine and in the region.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED FOR EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE:
Education: Minimum of bachelor’s or higher education level in accounting, finance, business administration, criminal justice, or law is required.
Work Experience: Minimum five (5) years previous experience as a law enforcement officer/investigative assistant/investigative analyst or equivalent work in a fraud unit or otherwise engaged in investigating complex schemes.
Language Proficiency: Fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English (Level IV) and Ukrainian is required.
