“STRONG UA in Ukraine” Activity

Technical position (mid- / senior-level technical specialist)

Estimated Period of Performance/Level of Effort: Long-term

Chemonics seeks technical specialist for the anticipated USAID-funded OEG: New Private Sector Activity: STRONG UA in Ukraine. This new activity will serve as USAID/Ukraine’s flagship trade and competitiveness project from 2024 to 2029. The award will build on the work of the Competitive Economy Program (CEP), which is scheduled to end in October 2025, and will be a major component of USAID’s Economic Stability and Recovery Initiative (ESRI). The new award will work to foster a better business enabling environment, provide support for competitive industries and firms, boost job creation, and increase exports. The technical specialist will be based on Kyiv, Ukraine.

We are seeking mid- (senior)-level technical specialist in the following areas:

  • Business enabling environment
  • Competitive industries and firms
  • Emerging Industries
  • Job creation
  • Trade facilitation and Export promotion
  • Private Sector Engagement
  • Investment and Finance
  • Small- and medium-sized enterprises
  • European Union integration
  • Legal and Regulatory Reform
  • Business Support Organizations

Qualifications:

Technical specialist requires substantial experience leading and/or implementing complex technical assistance programs in related technical fields, with a proven track record of programmatic accomplishment, professional achievement, management competence, and interpersonal skills.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field required. An advanced degree is preferred.
  • At least five years of demonstrated technical expertise and experience designing and managing programming in one or more of the technical areas outlined above is required.
  • Experience working on USAID–funded activities is preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity.
  • Written and verbal fluency in English and Ukrainian required. Fluency in Russian a plus.
