Vacancy Announcement:

UKRAINE-BASED LEGAL PROFESSIONALS WITH FOCUS ON PUBLIC, ADMINISTRATIVE OR CRIMINAL LAW (SEVERAL SHORT-TERM EXPERT ROLES)

ICON-INSTITUT Public Sector GmbH is currently seeking qualified legal professionals in the areas of public administrative Law and/or criminal law for the upcoming GIZ project in Ukraine „Strengthening Ukraine’s EU-Alignment in the Rule of Law“.

The project aims to enhance the capacities of the Ministry of Justice, DPMO, GOCEEI, and other key actors in steering and implementing Ukraine’s legal alignment with the Rule of Law chapters of the EU Acquis Communautaire, specifically Chapters 23 and 24.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing strategic and legal advice for the adaptation of the Ukrainian laws and by-laws to EU legislation,
  • Effectively cooperating in teams with international legal professionals, in particular regarding the specific topics of chapters 23 and 24 of the Acquis Communautaire,
  • Supporting the development of roadmaps, analysis or opinion papers, recommendations etc. for the Ukrainian counterparts,
  • Contributing to or leading capacity building initiatives (e.g. training activities, lectures or/and workshops) to support the workstreams of the project in cooperation with in particular Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Internal Affairs or other counterparts such as DPMO/GOCEEI.

Fields of Expertise:

We are looking for legal professionals with an academic track record or experience in legal practice in the following areas:

  • Overarching EU Law
  • Judiciary
  • Anti-Corruption
  • Fundamental Rights
  • Law Enforcement and Fight Against Organized Crime
