Nova Ukraine is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing humanitarian aid to the people of Ukraine and raising awareness about Ukraine in the United States and throughout the world. Thanks to your generous donations, we fund a variety of projects to help the people of Ukraine and to strengthen Ukraine’s democratic society. The Nova Ukraine team and volunteers have been working tirelessly to help those in need. We greatly appreciate the overwhelming support from the community. Since the full-scale war, we have already handed over 100 million dollars worth of humanitarian aid.

We are looking for a candidate for the position of Legal Lead in UA, who will provide general supervision of all legal activities carried out by internal paralegal and external partners of the organization.

Main responsibilities:

  • develop and manage the work with legal templates, contracts, and other legal documents, adapting them to our needs and organizational standards;
  • conducting legal analysis and optimisation of legal processes in the organization;
  • monitor and adjust the current activities of the legal team;
  • control of due diligence of counterparties for signing contracts;
  • keeping abreast of changes in legislation, especially those related to the work of non-profit organizations, and making recommendations to the organization on appropriate actions.

Requirements:

  • university degree in law;
  • English language proficiency at least B2;
  • at least 3 years of experience in a similar position;
  • ability to work effectively with legal documents and templates;
  • ability to navigate changes in legislation and analyze their impact on the organization;
  • strong management skills;
  • ability to work in a team, proactive attitude;
  • experience in similar positions in a humanitarian context will be an advantage.
