The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is an impartial, neutral, and independent organization whose exclusively humanitarian mission is to protect the lives and dignity of victims of armed conflict and other situations of violence and to provide them with assistance. The ICRC is mandated to work in countries affected by armed conflict or other situations of violence. The ICRC is present in over 100 countries and has some 18,000 staff worldwide. In 2014, the ICRC expanded its presence in Ukraine. Currently, we have over 900 team members working across the county in various professional fields.

About the job

The ICRC Support Services Unit is seeking a highly capable Integrity Advisor to join our team in Kyiv. This role supports the ICRC’s cultural change towards principle-based, ethical decision-making by assisting in the implementation of the delegation’s integrity framework. This framework includes capacity-building trainings concerning the promotion of our values and the prevention of misconduct.

Your Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Support the ICRC efforts to foster a culture of integrity and plan and implement initiatives
  • Implement the ICRC Code of Conduct Framework and Integrity Roadmap and its associated policies and guidelines and provide guidance and support to staff managers.
  • Coordinate with the Risk and Assurance Manager, the Code of Conduct Facilitator, and the Regional Integrity Advisor to identify training needs and to develop and implement a comprehensive training plan
  • Plan and conduct related capacity-building activities enhance staff awareness and understanding
  • Foster positive ambition for principle-based ethical decision-making
  • Support and guide staff in making ethical choices while fulfilling the ICRC’s mandate and commitments toward affected populations
  • Providing feedback on integrity-related trends and analyses to the Regional Integrity Advisor and Code of Conduct Facilitator

About you

To be successful as Integrity Advisor in the Support Services Unit, you should possess the following qualifications and experiences and have the following characteristics:

  • Ukrainian citizenship or permanent residence permit in Ukraine
  • University degree in social sciences, law or international relations, and/or relevant professional certification
  • Fluent command of English and the Ukrainian language
  • 5 years of experience in an international organization
  • Background in organizational development in the humanitarian/development or private sector
  • Self-motivated with a strong commitment to teamwork and humanitarian principles
  • Flexible, enthusiastic, and willing to learn
  • Ability to work independently, as well as effectively under supervision
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Ability to work within a diverse team and establish and maintain good working relations in a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural, and multi-disciplinary environment
