Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) in Ukraine is seeking a qualified professional for the Country Office to fill the position of the:

Junior Accounting Specialist (full-time, Kyiv)

Key responsibilities include inter alia:

• Conduct Cash desk transactions according to the GIZ Procedures and Rules (main responsibility).
• End of month/ end of year cash desk closing at the basis of the GIZ Procedures and Rules.
• Posting of internet bank payment and cash transaction in the Software Bank Book.
• Invoice checking in accordance with the GIZ Procedures and Rules.
• Conducting internet banking payments.
• Assist in filing the accounting documents.
• Ensuring good communication and information flow both within the GIZ country office and with the projects.
• Effectively coordinating with the Country office’s finance team or relevant department at GIZ HQ.
• Archiving of invoices, recording contractual obligations (work with commitment).
• Support in preparing processes for audits and internal control.
• Provide administrative support for IDA finance unit page.

Required qualifications, competences and experience:

• University degree in accounting and finance or similar degree.
• At least 2 years of professional experience as junior accountant.
• Native written and spoken Ukrainian; excellent command of English; knowledge of German is a strong asset.
• In-depth knowledge of accounting principles.
• Good working knowledge of ITC technologies (related software, phone, email, the internet) and computer applications (e.g. MS Office).
• Confidential treatment of data and information.
• Reliability, flexibility, high loyalty, high self-discipline, team player.
