DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
1. Assist the Unit Lead Rehabilitation and Disability in the effective implementation of WHO activities related to rehabilitation and assistive technologies programs, including but not limited to the ones programmed in the Biannual Collaborative Agreement (BCA) and overall policy dialogue.
2. Assist in the organization of deployments of multidisciplinary teams of international rehabilitation experts for delivery of training and capacity building activities for local rehabilitation personnel on rehabilitation and assistive technologies for most common health conditions.
3. Assist in the organization of training activities related to WHO support programmes to PHC facilities, community workers and other target groups on rehabilitation and assistive technologies.
4. Support in the coordination of capacity building initiatives for clinical multidisciplinary training centres (centres of excellence).
5. Support in the coordination of capacity building initiatives for WHO programmes in multi-profile hospitals, including acute trauma hospitals with SCI neurosurgical wards (acute rehabilitation services), non-specialized in-patient rehabilitation departments running multidisciplinary rehabilitation services (sub-acute non- specialized rehabilitation services) on clinical, organizational, specialized rehabilitation and assistive technology.
6. Assist in the production of reporting (donors, WCO UKR, WHO EURO etc.) on rehabilitation and assistive technologies.
7. Collect information, analyse, prepare and contribute in a regular and timely manner to various types of materials, reports and situation analyses related to rehabilitation and assistive technology and coordination needs in the country.
8. Collaborate with counterparts in the Organizations of People with Disabilities (OPDs) and other local organizations on developing peer supporting community and patients support programmes.
9. Rehabilitation and Disability in channelling, and supporting all types of WHO presence, visits and missions to the country, and monitor and follow-up the recommendations to ensure change.
10.Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Essential: University degree (Bachelor’s level) in Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine, public health, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, or social sciences.
Desirable: Master’s degree or postgraduate training in any of the above fields.
Essential: At least one (1) year of clinical experience as a rehabilitation professional in the rehabilitation sector.
Desirable:
1. Excellent analytical and writing skills;
2. Demonstrated ability to work within significant uncertainties in a rapidly changing environment;
3. Demonstrated ability to interact appropriately with high-level stakeholders, including senior officials and ministers.
4. Demonstrated data management and data analysis skills;
5. Good computer skills (word processing, spreadsheet, Power point presentations).
6. Emotional intelligence; Ability to identify and manage one’s own emotions, as well as helping others to do the same.

WHO offers staff in the General Services category an attractive remuneration package, which for the above position includes an annual net base salary starting at USD 29,688 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance, as applicable) and 30 days of annual leave.
