Nova Ukraine is a charitable foundation dedicated to supporting Ukraine through various initiatives, including educational projects aimed at translating and publishing popular science books in Ukrainian. Our mission is to empower talented children and educators by providing access to quality literature in fields such as mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology and psychology.
We are looking for a Project Manager to lead the translation and publication of STEM books, manage the project life cycle from book selection to distribution, and coordinate with various stakeholders to ensure a successful outcome.
Requirements:
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in project management or related fields;
- minimum of 1 year of experience in project management or similar roles;
- proficiency in English (writing and speaking) sufficient for effective communication;
- fluent in Ukrainian (writing and speaking);
- high-level negotiation skills for all aspects of the project;
- strong organizational skills with attention to detail;
- ability to work collaboratively across departments—legal, financial, administrative, back office—to achieve project goals.
Key responsibilities:
- Book management: selection and approval of books; acquisition of copyrights for popular scientific literature; coordination of the workflow from selection to publication of literature; management of relations with publishers; ensuring translation quality control and tracking of book stocks.
- Distribution: Developing strategic distribution plans to reach target audiences, including schools, camps, and educational clubs.
- Financial control: budgeting and tracking of project expenses; preparation of reports summarizing expenditures for submission to the project manager and back office team; preparation of project proposals: preparation of project proposals to fund ongoing project activities, ensuring that proposals are in line with Nova Ukraine’s policies and mission.
- Communication and collaboration: working with team members from different departments – legal, finance, administrative – to ensure alignment of project objectives and compliance with organization policies and compliance with organization policies.
- Partnerships and reporting: maintaining relationships with publishers and partners, reporting on project status, and participating in strategic planning.
Performance indicators will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
- number of titles published annually;
- quantity of books distributed each year;
- total budget spent per year on the project;
- average cost per copy published.
