Deloitte is seeking candidates for the position of Capacity Building and Event Management Specialist in support of USAID/UKaid SOERA. The position is office full-time and will be based in person in Kyiv, Ukraine.

Project Background and Summary:

The purpose of Ukraine SOERA is to strengthen public sector business operations and transparency, improve governance and oversight, advance privatization of selected SOEs, and develop a strategic management model for enterprises remaining in state ownership. Smart SOE reform and targeted privatization in Ukraine will increase private sector participation, stimulate broad-based economic growth, and reduce corruption. During the war and Ukraine’s recovery, SOERA is prioritizing support to maintain critical public services to citizens, support relocation and resilience of public infrastructure and facilities, enhance strategic communications to the public and external stakeholders, and help plan and execute effective, efficient, and accountable reconstruction.

Objective:

The Capacity Building and Event Management Specialist will support the Capacity Building Manager in the development, coordination, and execution of training and capacity-building initiatives, as well as project events under the USAID SOERA project. The Specialist will take on more technical and analytical responsibilities, ensuring that training programs and events are well-designed, effectively implemented, and contribute to meeting the project’s performance targets. Capacity Building and Event Management Specialist reports directly to Capacity Building Manager and will be located in Kyiv office.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Capacity Building Manager to develop and implement at least 2-4 monthly training events, including webinars, workshops, seminars, and forums.
  • Conduct needs assessments and identify capacity gaps among stakeholders, providing recommendations for training and development programs.
  • Propose relevant topics, speakers, delivery mechanisms, and target audiences for capacity-building activities.
  • Collaborate with the Manager to develop program agendas and oversee the preparation of training materials for participants.
  • Collaborate with the Strategic Communications team on the design and implementation of events.
  • Assist in the selection and coordination of event venues, speakers, and vendors, working with the procurement team to ensure effective contract management and vendor relations.
  • Ensure that all events are recorded, broadcast, and archived properly for future access, and assist in promoting events through appropriate channels.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and events by collecting feedback from participants and measuring impact against program indicators.
  • Assist in managing training and events budgets and ensure cost-effective implementation of activities.
  • Ensure compliance with USAID and SOERA branding guidelines for all events and promotional materials.
  • Provide detailed reports on training events, including summaries for SOERA and USAID, and contribute to the quarterly and annual reports.
  • Collaborate with the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Specialist to collect, analyze, and report training data, ensuring alignment with USAID performance indicators.

 Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, International Development, Organizational Development, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in capacity building, training, or program management, ideally within international development projects.
  • Strong understanding of training program design, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Experience in conducting needs assessments, stakeholder engagement, and managing multiple events simultaneously.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Ukrainian and English.
  • Familiarity with USAID reporting and branding requirements is an advantage.
  • Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and online training platforms.
  • Strong analytical skills, with experience in data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including government officials, project teams, and external partners.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and timelines.
