Job Title: Health Specialist

Duty Station: Kharkiv

Expected starting date: as soon as possible

Expected end date: 30 April 2025

Reporting Line: Programme Coordinator

 

CESVI 

CESVI is an international NGO, with headquarters in Italy, operating in Ukraine since 2022.

Since 2024 CESVI is operative in Eastern Ukraine, in particular in the Oblast of Kharkiv and Donetsk.

The Health Specialist will be based in Kharkiv, with frequent missions in CESVI main office in Kyiv.

Scope of the Position:  

The Health Specialist will support CESVI in developing and managing the health programs in Ukraine, ensuring that health activities are evidence-based and adhere to technical standards for the sector. The Health Specialist will support technical programs from assessment and conception through close-out and evaluation.

The position is expected to provide technical assistance to CESVI Ukraine and its health sector partners.

This position is open to Ukrainian nationals only.

Key Responsibilities and Duties: 

  • Conduct needs assessments to identify health challenges and priorities within the target communities.
  • Design health programs and interventions aligned with organizational goals and donor requirements.
  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate health components into broader project frameworks.
  • Develop program plans, budgets, and timelines, effectively allocating resources.
  • Guide project teams on best practices, protocols, and relevant health standards.
  • Oversee the day-to-day implementation of health programs, ensuring activities adhere to work plans and standards.
  • Conduct field visits to monitor program delivery, identify challenges, and implement corrective actions.
  • Manage relationships with local health authorities, community leaders, and other stakeholders to ensure program effectiveness.
  • Ensure adherence to protocols for data collection, entry, and reporting for health indicators.

Qualifications: 

  • Master’s Degree or equivalent in Medicine, Public Health, or relevant discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience in implementing health programs, including the humanitarian response.
  • Minimum 2-4 years’ work experience in their field at the coordinator level;

Skills and Competences: 

  • Flexible, focused, and reliable in an environment of changing demands.
  • Excellent report writing skills
  • Fluent in Ukrainian and Excellent in English.
  • Highly developed management and leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Has a good knowledge of the context in the region.
