About Ukraine Global Scholars

Ukraine Global Scholars (UGS) is a U.S.- and Ukraine-registered nonprofit organization that helps talented Ukrainian high school students from low-income backgrounds gain admission to leading boarding schools and universities worldwide through full scholarships. Since 2015, almost 400 UGS students have secured more than $100 million in scholarships, with the commitment to return to Ukraine after completing their education and contribute to the country’s long-term recovery and development.

Today, UGS is expanding its work beyond education by building initiatives that connect globally educated Ukrainians with professional opportunities in Ukraine, helping develop the next generation of leaders committed to rebuilding the country.

The gross annual compensation ranges between $20,000 and $26,400 and is based on experience. UGS also provides medical insurance.

Position Summary

We are looking for an experienced, entrepreneurial, and proactive Fundraising Manager to help diversify and grow UGS’s funding portfolio.

This is a highly independent role for someone who enjoys identifying opportunities, building relationships, creating compelling fundraising proposals, and developing innovative ways to secure financial support for a fast-growing nonprofit organization.

The successful candidate will work across institutional fundraising, corporate partnerships, individual giving, crowdfunding, and donor stewardship while actively contributing to UGS’s long-term sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

Institutional Fundraising

  • Independently identify relevant grant opportunities from foundations, governments, international organizations, and other institutional donors.
  • Research, write, and submit compelling grant proposals independently.
  • Monitor fundraising calendars, deadlines, and reporting requirements.

Corporate and Major Donor Partnerships

  • Identify and cultivate relationships with corporate partners, philanthropic organizations, and private donors.
  • Develop tailored partnership proposals and sponsorship opportunities.
  • Build long-term relationships with existing donors while proactively expanding UGS’s donor network.
  • Support stewardship activities to ensure long-term donor engagement and retention.

Individual Giving & Digital Fundraising

  • Manage UGS’s presence on donation and crowdfunding platforms, including GlobalGiving, Benevity, Blackbaud, and others.
  • Work closely with the Communications team to design and implement online fundraising campaigns.
  • Identify new digital fundraising channels and innovative giving opportunities.
  • Develop campaigns that engage UGS alumni, supporters, and international communities.

Strategic Development

  • Research awards, competitions, accelerators, fellowships, and recognition opportunities that can strengthen UGS’s visibility and credibility.
  • Continuously identify new fundraising mechanisms, partnerships, and revenue opportunities.
  • Monitor fundraising trends and recommend new approaches for organizational growth.

Events and Community Engagement

  • Design and coordinate fundraising components for UGS events, conferences, and community activities.
  • Help develop sponsorship packages and donor engagement opportunities around events.

Qualifications

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • Proven experience in nonprofit fundraising (at least 2 years).
  • Demonstrated success in securing grants from institutional donors.
  • Experience in attracting corporate sponsorships and/or private philanthropic funding.
  • Experience managing crowdfunding campaigns or digital fundraising initiatives.
  • Excellent written and spoken English (professional level).
  • Excellent written and spoken Ukrainian.
  • Outstanding proposal writing and communication skills.
  • Strong networking and relationship-building abilities.
  • The ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • A creative mindset and willingness to test new fundraising approaches.
  • Genuine interest in education, youth development, and Ukraine’s long-term recovery.
  • FOP (3rd Group)

What We Offer

  • Meaningful role in a mission-driven international public charity organization.
