Our mission is to be assistants and guides in career development

We are not just a media or job portal, we are a career acceleration platform where modern and innovative companies and conscious motivated candidates meet. We help talents to build their own conscious path of professional growth, and companies to develop their employer brand and find "their" candidates.

What tools do we have for this?

Vacancies. We publish creative and digital vacancies in proven companies: remote, in an office or in a flexible format, in Ukraine or abroad. And we also have a system of personalized recommendations that selects the most relevant offers.

Company profiles. We introduce candidates who care about where and with whom to work to companies that meet our values and the requirements of today. To do this, we write about their processes, products, culture, team and hiring principles.

Media. We create content about job search, career building, professional and self-development for professionals of all levels: from students and juniors to company leaders or business owners. We keep you up to date with the news, tell stories and share expert opinions.

Projects for candidates and companies. We create initiatives that are a response to social needs and challenges in society. Organizing them, our team supports various audiences of Ukrainians (in particular, vulnerable categories of the population) in professional growth, employment and career building through cooperation with companies. Just during the full-scale invasion, we organized webinars on employment abroad and freelancing, launched career projects for youth, IDPs and women, and now plan to actively work on veteran employment.

The idea of creating a career portal came to Anna Mazur's mind because of her own negative experience —  when she was looking for a job, she lacked similar resource where she could find out about companies and send resumes with a clear answer to the question: "Why do I want to work here?". And also — because of a steady conviction that every person has a talent that is worth discovering and realizing.

"When I was a child, I was asked who I would be when I grew up, and first I replied — an astronomer or a translator. But at the age of 14 my vision of the future changed: I didn't know who I wanted to be but I had a crazy fear that I couldn't realize the opportunities, talents, and time I had.  For me, the sphere was not so important as the opportunity to realize my potential.

My favorite quote: "Everyone is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid." The desire to give each person the opportunity to realize themselves — it is something that drives me. I sincerely believe that everyone has a lot of energy, talents and opportunities. And my personal motivation is to find the use of this talent and not to bury it in the ground".

Anna Mazur,
founder and CEO

In five years, a niche project based on HR expertise turned into a technological online product with strong international potential. We have gathered hundreds of thousands of proactive and conscious candidates and partnered with top Ukrainian and international companies. Today, we have something to offer to a wide audience of talented people, and not only in Ukraine. So, we consider ourselves as strong competitors who keep up with global services.

We work remotely. And employees can live even in another country

From the very beginning the first employee Daria worked remotely from Dnipro. The rest of the team managed to work in Kyiv from a cafe on Vozdvyzhenka, three coworking spaces and our own office near Palats Sportu metro station. However, we did not manage to be real office workers for long — only one year. Then there was a pandemic, and after that — a full-scale war, so now Happy Monday is a fully remote company.

Thanks to the remote format the work schedule is quite flexible: for someone in the team it is comfortable to start work at 8 am, and for someone — at 10 am. Together we try to stay in touch on weekdays from 10:30 to 17:00 and the rest of the time is distributed at our own discretion.

"My work in Happy Monday is a happy life turn which I am very grateful for. At that moment my daughter was only 9 months old and it was very difficult to find a job. My friend shared a post on Facebook with me and I realized: this is what I need. I was preparing a CV for a long time. I was very worried and when I received the cherished letter that I was chosen I was so happy. At first I worked only 2-3 hours a day, but with the growth of the team and the company my responsibilities also grew.

The schedule and format of the work is one of the most important values for me. I have been working remotely from another city since the founding of Happy Monday and I really appreciate the fact that despite the distance the company built a remote format for working with me, although it was more difficult. In addition, I am a mother and it's very important to me that I can take a break from work or start the work day a little later to spend time with my daughter."

Daria Vaskovska,
operations manager

We have a principle of trust and independence in our team, there is no total control or picky inspections. Everyone works at their own pace but for the result. It may seem to some that such discretion leads to shirking, but it is not. On the contrary, everyone sets himself the task of doing the maximum for the team and achieving the overall goals of the company.

Paid sick leave in Happy Monday is provided without any certificates, and vacation can be taken without restrictions on the number of days per year. But before going to vacation make sure that someone can replace you, deadlines aren't burning, and the team result will not suffer from your absence.

Key principles of Happy Monday

1. If you want to take on additional responsibility — say about it and act. We respect ambitious and bold people.

2. If you see that something works wrong — correct it or suggest a solution. Even if it's not your field of work.

3. If you need help — ask for it. And if you are asked for help — don’t refuse, because we all work for one common goal (unless it affects your tasks and areas of responsibility).

4. If it is your responsibility — do it. In time and without reminders. We don’t wait for orders from above, inspiration or that someone else will come and solve it.

5. If you need a rest — say about it. Being offline during working hours, taking extra days off for having a rest or spending time with relatives. We believe that work should be favorite. But we also know that work is just one part of life, even if it is important. We value the free time of our colleagues, their hobbies, families and the need for time without work.

How we work

We have three tools that help us to be a team at a distance.

Slack is a working messenger for quick solving of all issues. To keep up with other team member’s tasks and current projects we've created a special channel #remote_control where we write about our plans for the day — working and not, to let everyone know when we're online and when we're not. There are also channels for non-working talks, discussion of books, music and even memes.

Zoom — a tool for video conferencing. Depending on the position team members communicate via video at least once a week, and at most — the whole working day is spent on calls. We have two types of regular meetings.

  • Weekly meetings for different departments. Here we share news on projects, achievements of the week, plans and initiatives where we need each other's help. We try to make them short, but sometimes we also like to talk about something private.

  • Monthly meetings. Here everyone talks about their work done during the last month and plans for the next one.

The rest of the meetings are less regular and are scheduled as needed: with the client, the chief or those, who are involved in a particular project.

Notion is a tool for joint work. Here everyone writes down their work tasks in a way that is convenient for them. So any of your colleagues can look into your work processes and set you tasks if necessary. Also at Notion we have a table with goals and plans for the next quarter, various work instructions and other important documents.

Happy Monday does not have a KPI for each employee — there are key goals for each department and for the whole team. And everyone does their best to turn goals into results.

I love our team for almost the same attitude to work. Do you know this meme about preparing group projects at the university where one of four people does 90% of the work, one says that will help and doesn't help, one doesn't understand what is happening, and another disappears at the beginning and returns only at the end? So, this is not about Happy Monday. We are all extremely involved not only in our direct responsibilities but in everything that concerns the company.

The key quality of each of us is unindifference

The Happy Monday team consists of people who adore their job. It may be difficult for us to judge ourselves from the outside, but there are many things that unite us.

  • Maximal unindifference to the result of work. We constantly monitor the views of articles, the number of registrations for the event, carefully read your comments and analyze the situation when you send a complaint to the vacancy.
  • Endless love for our product and a strong belief that we are doing a very important thing.
  • Professional maturity, readiness to make decisions independently and take responsibility for them.
  • Worldview similarity and common interests. That's why we always have something to discuss except work and there is nothing to quarrel over or irritate each other.

"I never had a goal to create a business, but I always had a desire to do what I believe in with like-minded people. Fortunately or unfortunately I did not find such an environment for myself so I had to create it on my own. At the moment I am happy to be able to work with such people, in the team and in the culture that suits me personally. It is about transparency, trust, lack of strict control and the ability to give people the freedom of realization in the sphere in which they are engaged. And it’s OK if they make a million mistakes, while they are ready to grow and take responsibility when no one sees or controls them."

Anna Mazur,
founder and CEO

Happy Mondays will be here for those who like what we do and who responded to the vacancy because they want to work exactly in Happy Monday and not because they send CVs to all offers in a row. Our product is a reflection of ourselves. If you like it, you'll like us too.

Natalia Trofimova,
editor in chief
Our CEO Anna has many talents and one of them is to select people for the team. If you want to feel what it's like to work with mega-responsible, creative, motivated people who care about the common cause and are always ready to help a colleague — you should join the Happy Monday team.

We often meet for coffee. And it doesn't matter that it's only online.

In order not to lose touch while working remotely we use all the possibilities of online: we drink wine in zoom, organize online corporate events and involve bots which will give us ideas for communication.

For example, watercooler_bot in Slack offers topics for non-working chatters, and virtualcoffee_bot every two weeks divides us into pairs for informal coffee in zoom.

Natalia Trofimova,
editor in chief
As we work remotely from the beginning of quarantine all our activities and events are online. For example, every two weeks everyone drinks virtual coffee with a colleague chosen by our Slack-bot. Every time after such a conversation I wonder what deep and interesting people work with me, and I regret that we can't see each other offline and talk a lot during lunch or real coffee.

We love to learn and share knowledge

We have our own corporate online library. We have a lot of books about personal development, psychology, and marketing. In Slack, we share helpful articles, courses, and work tools in a specific chat.

For us, the best Monday is the one that starts with studying. That's why we introduced Monday educational events such as Thank God It's Monday. The employees of Happy Monday can share knowledge, different skills, and experience with each other.

Once every two weeks, we have an English-speaking club together.

Olha Chulovska,
Journalist and a Manager of Content Projects
Happy Monday is a place where you are not afraid to take the initiative because you know that people will support you in 99% of cases. I am an English teacher, and I like working with texts. I sometimes regret that I do not use my pedagogical potential at work. Therefore, I was extremely excited when my colleagues expressed the desire to attend English-speaking clubs. Once every two weeks, we start Wednesday mornings with inspirational talks in English. I try to choose a topic that will not leave anyone indifferent. Our club is an opportunity to improve their English and get to know each other better.

We do not look for good specialists but real fans of Mondays

We take an extremely meticulous approach to team selection in order to find an employee with great values, great potential, and willingness to give their all. You can grow professionally with us and try yourself in different roles and even mix positions. The main thing is to be passionate about what you do.

Katerina Zhuchenya,
Head of the Project Department
In Happy Monday, we support not only with words but deeds, especially in career changes within the company. During more than three years of working in Happy Monday, I applied for different jobs and changed several positions within one company.🙂 I worked as an administrator for about half a year. Then, I became an SMM specialist (I was developing our Instagram page). After a year, I became a copywriter and a journalist. Furthermore, I combined these jobs with administration. Finally, I became a project manager and headed the project department.

In Happy Monday we value our employees' highly developed emotional intelligence, professional maturity, readiness to make independent decisions, self-discipline, ability to communicate, hear the position of others and find compromises. We do not have people who are not self-dependent, passive and those who adhere to the position that there are only two opinions — theirs and wrong.

How to join our team?

Nowadays, Happy Monday is developing rapidly. We have ambitious plans to improve the platform and enter the international market. Thus, we look for talented people to join the team. We will tell you how the employee selection process goes and what we pay special attention to in the applications.

  1. Submission of a CV and a cover letter. Yes, the cover letter must be available. Even before reading the CV, the subject of the letter, the cover letter text, and the file name of the cover letter will tell a lot about you. In the CV, the most crucial information is experience, achievements, and hobbies. However, education, specific names of companies and brands, and personal qualities are of no importance.
  2. Testing. We are test fans. We need to make sure of a person's competence. It is also a perfect opportunity for candidates to understand what awaits them during work.
  3. Interview with Yulia (Chief Operating Officer) and a representative of the future team. They will ask about your motivation and expectations from work, talk about work processes, and give feedback on the test at the interview.
  4. An offer to become part of the Monday fans team:)

We have instructions not only for work processes but also for ourselves

We understand that it is difficult for new team members to get acquainted with all details remotely. But during the quarantine and more than a year of full-scale war, we have already mastered the art of remote adaptation.

New team members can count on a lot of written instructions, video calls with anyone from the team if something needs to be explained, and of course prompt responses in chats. And in our Notion you can find instructions… to ourselves. That's right: each member of the team sincerely wrote in what part of the day he/she is the most effective, in what conditions likes to work, what irritates him/her and what style of communication he/she prefers. So beginners don't have to worry about whether the dot at the end of a sentence instead of a smiley is a passive aggression or whether this colleague just doesn't like smileys.

Anton Yeremenko,
Head of Communications
I have never had such an intense and easy adaptation as in Happy Monday. You can ask any question and get advice and support instantly. At the same time, it does not matter whether the advice is professional or whether it is a creative task for everyone. The team forte is their deep understanding of Happy Monday's product and philosophy. Thus, you can always get honest feedback on your work. For me, the advantage of Happy Monday is unity. However, not only among colleagues but also with the target audience we work for.

Even if there are no vacancies in Happy Monday team now — we work to make your Mondays happy 🙂
