 Position Title: Data Analysis Assistant

Duty Station: Kyiv

Classification: General service staff, G4

Type of Appointment: Special Short-Term, Six months with possibility of extension

Estimated Start Date: As soon as possible

 Context: 

Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission and IM/MEL Manager, and the direct supervision of Senior Data Analysis Specialist, a Data Analysis Assistant will contribute to the implementation of IOM Ukraine’s Information Management efforts and IOM Ukraine’s Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) activities.

Core Functions / Responsibilities: 

  1. In close collaboration with the Project Specialist, to work across IOM relevant units supporting the development/refinement of data collection tools.
  2. Assist in preparation of responses to the partners’ requests for information products issued by the IOM’s data and analytics sector, including their tracking, documentation, additional data processing, and response drafting.
  3. Provide data management assistance, including documentation, ingesting, storing, organizing, and entry of data following the standard operational procedures (SOP) and IOM data protection principles.
  4. Support in writing the analytical reports and materials, preparing infographics for further dissemination among the government and humanitarian partners.
  5. Assist in arranging Information Management and DTM seminars, training sessions, workshops, lectures, and visits, including preparation of materials (copying, filing, etc.) and visuals (charts, tables, maps, etc.).
  6. Assist in the dissemination of information products prepared by the data and analytics team, including participation in presentations, reports and using other communication tools. Support liaising with counterparts and project beneficiaries on the Information Management efforts and DTM activities.
  7. Draft official and unofficial correspondence in English and Ukrainian (Russian if necessary).
  8. Undertake duty travel within Ukraine as required.
  9. Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

Required Qualifications and Experience

 Education 

  • High school diploma or equivalent with at four years of relevant work experience;

OR

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (preferably in Human Rights, Law or International Relations) with at least two one year of relevant work experience.

 Experience 

  • Excellent level of computer literacy including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in the usage of the data collection tools (KOBO, and XLS forms)
  • Experience providing general project support, including, activity tracking and project documentation preparation and formatting.
  • Knowledge of use of statistical software for data analysis (SPSS, STATA) will be advantage.

Languages

Fluency in English and Ukrainian is required (oral and written).
