Mission and objectives
The IOM Mission in Ukraine was established in 1996. In line with IOM’s global strategy, IOM Ukraine aims at advancing the understanding of the opportunities and challenges of migration in the Ukrainian context. The IOM Mission in Ukraine provides assistance to internally displaced persons (IDPs) and conflict-affected people, fights trafficking in human beings, assists the Government in dealing with irregular migration, improving its migration management system, and creating migrant-inclusive health practices and policies. IOM supports the development of comprehensive and evidence-based migration policies and legislation in line with international norms and builds government’s capacity in harnessing the development potential of migration, among others, by creating incentives for migrants’ remittances investment and offering evidence-based policy advice to enhance labour migration management. During 24 years of presence in Ukraine, IOM has assisted over half a million migrants (Ukrainians and other nationalities), IDPs, potential migrants, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups, directly or through its project partners.
Context
Under the overall supervision of the Programme Manager (Camp Coordination and Camp Management) and the direct supervision of the Senior Project Assistant (CCCM) and in coordination with other technical programme specialists, the successful candidate will support IOMs efforts to improve living conditions of crisis affected population across Ukraine. The incumbent will implement CCCM activities around collective centers, including assessments, focus group discussions with the community, monitoring, and distribution.
Task description
1.Assist in daily implementation and monitoring of project activities related to IOM Camp Coordination and Camp Management (CCCM) projects, especially in collective centers located within relevant region.
2.Assist in all the financial, administrative and technical aspects of the CCCM projects to follow IOM’s policies and procedures and to be implemented in a timely and efficient manner and within the budget.
3.Provide support in various monitoring and evaluation exercises, including the delivery of procurement and logistics activities according to the project operations in coordination with the Procurement and Logistics team and NFIs focal point.
4.Conduct field visit in collective centers, identifying IDPs needs and sectoral gaps, including focus group discussion with site managers and community representatives.
5.Compile and share information and updates on collective centers on a weekly basis.
6.Provide support in maintaining positive relations with local NGOs and other stakeholders.
7.Provide guidance and capacity-building support for site managers as needed.
8.Communicate regularly with site managers and partners in order to ensure project implementation according to project scope, assist in capacity building as required. Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

Candidate must be a national or legal resident of the country of assignment.
Requirements
Required experience
3 years of experience in managing multi-sectoral activities, including distribution and community outreach. Working with a non-governmental organization and/or international organization is an advantage. Working with Camp Coordination and Camp Management operations experience is preferable. Proficient use of MS Office and other software such as SPSS, KoBo toolbox, DropBox, etc. is required.

As it is a national UN Volunteer’s assignment, the volunteer shall organize his/her accommodation by themselves. Taking into account the current circumstances in the country, telecommuting arrangements can be applied by the Host Entity. Entitlements of National UN Volunteer Specialist The contract lasts for the period indicated in the vacancy with possibility of extensions subject to availability of funding, operational necessity and satisfactory performance. However, there is no expectation of renewal of the assignment.
