Proposal Summary: 

This prospective project will provide the US State Department with monitoring services to monitor the delivery and use of US foreign assistance in Ukraine. The project will involve working with grantees to develop monitoring plans identifying performance indicators to report progress, compiling submitted data into reports for State Department review, and overseeing visits to sites where US assistance is being utilized to verify assistance is being used as intended.

Position Summary:

The Part-Time Translator and Interpreter will support monitoring activities in the field as requested by the Department of State. The Translators and Interpreters should be located in Ukraine; they will be primarily responsible for translating monitoring reports and survey forms and interpreting for training sessions and monitoring interviews/focus groups (when and where requested).

Responsibilities:

• Translate monitoring reports and data collection tools.
• Serve as a translator during training sessions (when deemed necessary).
• Provide translation of other documents or functions as required.
• Serve as interpreter during site visits and M&E meetings as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field of study (Public Policy/Administration, Social Sciences, Economics, Monitoring and Evaluation, etc.).
• Previous experience in translating from Ukrainian to English both orally and written.
• Has previous experience with monitoring and evaluation key terms and concepts.
• Demonstrated skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders of different backgrounds.
• Fluent in English (strong writing skills necessary) and Ukrainian.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize deliverables in a timely manner to meet quick turnaround.
