The five-year USAID/Ukraine Public Health System Recovery and Resilience Activity aims to strengthen the public health capacities, standards, outreach services, and access to essential health care services during crises such as COVID-19 and other health-related challenges, as part of supporting Ukraine’s pathway to self-reliance.
Position Purpose
Pact seeks a Senior Mental Health Advisor who will provide technical leadership and oversight on the implementation of project approaches and activities aimed at increasing access to mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) services for war-impacted populations. The Senior Mental Health Advisor will spearhead the formulation and delivery of PHS R&R’s technical assistance and capacity development support to the Government of Ukraine and local partners to strengthen national-level capacity and coordination for MHPSS; increase the capacity of the MHPSS workforce; scale-up community-based MHPSS services using evidence-informed interventions; and improve community knowledge, awareness, and demand for MHPSS. S/he will collaborate closely with key stakeholders and partners to ensure the implementation of a coordinated, high-quality MHPSS program contextualized to the Ukraine context and aligned with international standards and best practices for MHPSS. The Senior Mental Health Advisor will report to the PHS R&R Chief of Party.
