Position Title: Programme Coordination Associate (North Region)
Duty Station: Kyiv, Ukraine

Context:
Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission and Senior Programme Coordinator (RRR), and the direct supervision of the Programme Manager (Area Manager) for the North Region of Ukraine, the successful candidate will contribute to the implementation and coordination of IOM Ukraine’s programming carried out by the thematic teams in the North Region.
Core Functions / Responsibilities:
- Support the Programme Manager (Area Manager) for the North Region and the National Programme Officer (Hub Lead) in overall coordination of the activities implemented by program teams within the North region.
- Support in coordinating with relevant stakeholders and counterparts from government and stakeholders, including meetings, conferences, field visits, and coordination events in order to maintain professional and orderly communication.
- Support the Area Manager in identifying programming needs, gaps, and opportunities in coordination with local authorities.
- Participate in coordination meetings with other UN counterparts and stakeholders active in the area, cluster and working group meetings, general coordination meetings and other inter-agency meetings, as needed. Provide minutes and feedback to respective project managers, Area Manager and other IOM senior staff on the results of these events.
- Follow-up with program focal points regarding project implementation, delays, and challenges.
- Support the Programme Manager (Area Manager) and Head of Hub in gathering, compiling, and circulating essential coordination and program information, including activity tracking, priority needs, government requests, and other relevant sources.
- Maintain information sharing and coordination tools, including action points, meeting minutes, contact lists, and others.
- Coordinate regular reporting on the North region activities for both internal and external purposes, including area-level updates, area response plans, briefings, press notes, publications and articles for donors and stakeholders.
- Coordinate with relevant local authorities on project implementation.
- Undertake regular and ad hoc duty travels to field locations pertinent to the overall programming, including field assessment and monitoring missions.
- Conduct visits to project sites to maintain up-to-date contextual awareness of the hub’s operating environment.
- Support the National Programme Officer (Hub Lead) in establishing and maintaining IOM’s office presence.
- Contribute to the analysis of context, needs, and conditions relevant to the migration, political, economic, operational, and security situation and support the North coordination team in addressing issues of note with relevant project units.
- Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Education
- High school diploma with seven years of relevant experience; or
- Bachelor Degree or equaivalent in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law, Economics or related fields from an accredited academic institution with at least five years of relevant professional experience.
Experience
- Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, donors, United Nations agencies and non-governmental organizations;
- Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups;
- Experience working in a field environment is an asset;
- Experience working with civil society;
- Drafting, writing, and reporting skills, confident user of the Microsoft Office Suite;
- Knowledge of humanitarian, transition, and development activities and context is advantageous;
- Experience in working with vulnerable populations;
- Knowledge of the socio-political and geographical context of the North Region of Ukraine.
Languages
English and Ukrainian is required.
