Job Summary

Global Communities is seeking a qualified Capacity Building Coordinator to assist the Partnerships Team in overseeing the capacity-building of local partner CSOs, working closely with other Grants and Technical teams. Responsibilities provide proactive support and coordination of Global Communities’ capacity-building program under the direction of the Deputy Program Director on Partnerships and in collaboration with technical experts. The individual in this role is responsible for humanitarian and operational capacity development and oversight of training and performance enhancement. The person in this position will report to Deputy Program Director on Partnerships.

Essential Responsibilities

The Capacity Building Coordinator will be responsible for the following:

·       Reviewing Global Communities and partner implementation plans and working closely with technical leaders and partners to ensure coordinated implementation of plans.

·       Participate in planning meetings to coordinate capacity building within the program.

·       Conduct reviews, assessments, and focus groups to identify key gaps in capacity, risk mitigation, and management practices, sharing findings and recommendations with relevant departments and country leadership.

·       Support developing, organizing, and delivering relevant activities, such as partner-related events and workshops.

·       Selection of short terms consultants accordingly to partners’ needs and coordinating and administrating the consultants’ performance.

·       Support the development of the capacity-building plan under the leadership of the Deputy Program Director.

·       Development of capacity-building resources and use of capacity-building tools in close collaboration with technical and industry leaders.

·       Develop and deliver capacity-building training for staff, facilitate training, and develop capacity-building resources.

·       Develop and maintain effective working relationships with relevant stakeholders, including community leaders and other implementation partners. ·

·       Timely preparation and submission of weekly, monthly, and quarterly work plans and inclusion of supervisor feedback is required.

Position Requirements

Education

A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required; a degree in social sciences, psychology, social work, international development, or other related field is preferred.

Experience

·       A minimum of 2 years’ prior experience working in a humanitarian emergency, conflict, post-conflict, or post-disaster settings and in implementing protection programs and humanitarian aid distributions.

·       Minimum 5 years’ experience in capacity building and/or CSO development activities.

·       Demonstrated ability to design capacity-building strategies based on precise needs identification, understanding of the operating context, and experience of working with Ukrainian CSOs.

·       Solid experience in organizing trainings, familiarity with a wide range of capacity building techniques including designing educational curriculum.

·       Experience in working with Ukrainian CSOs (civil society organizations), including CSOs capacity building.

·       Knowledge of USAID/Bureau of Humanitarian Assistance requirements is preferred.

·       Facilitation and training delivering skills are preferred.

Skills

·       Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with staff at all levels of the organization.

·       A team player who can work collaboratively and with people of diverse backgrounds.

·       Exemplary time management, multi-tasking skills, and attention to detail necessary to meet deadlines and coordinate multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

·       A strong understanding of the Ukraine context, and Ukrainian CSOs.

·       Ability to work both in an advisory and a hands-on implementation capacity.

·       Computer literacy, and familiarity with word processing, excel, and PowerPoint is required.

·       Excellent writing and presentation skills

·       Ability and willingness to travel (up to 25%) to target communities.

Language

Professional proficiency in written and spoken and Ukrainian and/or Russian, working level of English is an advantage.
