Making Cents International seeks a Project Associate to work on the USAID-funded Ukraine National Identity Through Youth (UNITY) activity. UNITY seeks to foster vested ownership among young people in the country’s democratic, European future by further mobilizing youth leadership of a values-based conception of Ukrainian identity grounded in innovation, engagement, and pluralism. To that end, this activity simultaneously addresses the key domains identified in USAID’s Positive Youth Development (PYD) approach: building youth assets, fostering resilience, offering age-appropriate experiences for youth contribution, and strengthening the enabling environment. Concurrently, UNITY intentionally and safely promotes dialogue and belonging around this pluralistic identity and incentivizes participation and leadership by historically marginalized groups.

The Project Associate will support the effective implementation of Making Cents’ activities under UNITY’s Objective 1 (expanding economic opportunities for youth) and Objective 4 (youth-centered research), along with other cross-cutting mental health and psychosocial support activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in coordinating Making Cents’ activities across UNITY objectives
  • Provide programmatic, administrative, and logistical support to all Making Cents’ UNITY activities
  • Conduct web-based research
  • Translate project documents (e.g., training sessions, grantee reports, talking points) between English and Ukrainian
  • Assist in organizing trainings, meetings, and workshops
  • Travel to UNITY activity sites (as security allows)
  • Coordinate activities with UNITY staff and Making Cents’ staff based in the United States
  • Contribute to activity planning, reporting, data analysis, and budgets as requested
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Resident of Ukraine
  • Oral fluency in Ukrainian and English
  • Excellent writing skills in Ukrainian and English
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office applications
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Ability to travel within Ukraine (as security situation allows)
  • Interest in supporting youth development activities
