Position Title: Capacity Building Senior Assistant (CCCM)

Duty Station: Dnipro, Ukraine

Classification: General Service Staff, Grade G6

Type of Appointment: Special Short-Term, Six months with possibility of extension

Estimated Start Date: As soon as possible

Context:

Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission and the Programme Manager (CCCM), and the direct supervision of Programme Officer (Capacity Building Coordinator), the successful candidate will support IOM efforts to improve living conditions of crisis affected population across Ukraine particularly through capacity development of government/collective center authorities and CCCM actors.

The selected candidate will be responsible for supporting the Programme Officer (Capacity Building Coordinator) in ensuring the implementation and coordination of capacity building project activities at the hub and oblast level, and in areas where IOM CCCM program is operating in collaboration with CCCM team.

Core Functions / Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct regular site visits and periodic learning needs assessment with CCCM team and site managers to inform and update the capacity building strategy and plan.
  2. Ensure all training package/materials, support with training logistics at hub level in coordination with Capacity Building (CB) National Officer.
  3. In collaboration with CB team, work on periodic review, refinement and adaptation of CCCM training package for the rollout trainings based on the feedback from participants and contextual/ situational updates.
  4. Support in ensuring that the Capacity Building components, adult learning methodologies and contextualization are appropriate, relevant and practical for national site management actors in Ukraine utilizing local examples and good practices from the field.
  5. Collect examples of local good practices and ensure proper documentation and submission to Programme Officer (Capacity Building Coordinator).
  6. Deliver onsite trainings and other capacity building activities in coordination with CCCM in identified oblasts. Undertake duty travel on a need basis.
  7. Organize and coordinate the ToT-trained Pool of Trainers at hub level and provide support, skills enhancement, and facilitate periodic lessons learned reflection in coordination with the Programme Officer and CCCM team.
  8. Submit regular Capacity Building training reports and provide input, recommendations to Programme Officer (Capacity Building Coordinator).on how to enhance project implementation particularly on hub level roll out trainings and other Capacity Building activities.
  9. Regularly update the IOM Training Tracker and Global CCCM Training Registry based on hub level training activities.
  10. Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Education

  • High school diploma/certificate or equivalent with at least six years of relevant work experience;

OR

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in International Relations, Social Science, Education, Business Administration, Human Resources, Migration Studies or a related field from an accredited academic institution with 4 years of relevant experience.

Experience and Skills

  • Experience in humanitarian or development field.
  • Work experience in training, facilitation, module development, and other capacity building activities relevant to humanitarian or development field especially camp management.
  • Work experience in displacement issue or camp management is an advantage.
  • Work experience from IOM or an international organization is an advantage.
  • Good writing, communication and negotiation skills.
  • Personal commitment, efficiency, flexibility, drive for results.
  • Capacity to work effectively and harmoniously within a team of colleagues from varied cultures and professional backgrounds.

Languages

Fluency in English and Ukrainian is required.
