Як працюється у Mazars?
78years on the world market
15years in Ukraine
1office in Kyiv
110+employees in Ukraine

Mazars provides a full range of auditing, accounting outsourcing, and financial advisory services. The firm also offers legal and tax services. It works with many clients, from small and medium-sized enterprises to the largest multinationals. Mazars has 300+ offices and over 47,000 employees in more than 95 countries.

The company with French roots

The company is named after its founder Robert Mazars. He opened his accounting firm in Rouen (France) in 1945. During the first decades, Mazars developed as a local audit firm. However, in the 1980s, the company was actively developing on the international market. Today, Mazars is a full-fledged global player.

In 1993, Mazars opened its office in Kyiv. In 2008, managing partner Gregoire Dattee came to Ukraine from France. He started his career in the French office of Mazars as an intern. Later, he became a partner of the firm and started developing a representative office in another country.

At that time, the Ukrainian office of the company had only several employees. However, in 15 years, the firm has hired more than 110 people, and Gregoire Dattee is continuing to lead the team.

No need to work from the office. However, you will be impressed with it

The company's office is located in Kyiv. The representatives of all business areas work there. A big outsourcing team for providing accounting services also works in Lviv. However, the company does not rule out the possibility of employing people from different parts of Ukraine.

The Mazars team is a united whole, and team members from different cities are often involved in each other's projects and work together.

The Mazars Kyiv office has an open space that can be booked by employees in advance through the online system. The space is divided into areas for meetings. There are silent rooms, beanbag chairs for working in a more relaxed position, and stand-up desks. There is plenty of space in the kitchen to not only have dinner, but also to gather for informal communication.

To ensure high-quality and uninterrupted customer service during power outages and the absence of the Internet, the company has created comfortable working conditions for its employees. The business center is equipped with a generator and a Starlink system, and the office always has a sufficient supply of water.

Currently, Mazars employees can work online or offline. The employees who do not live in Kyiv work completely remotely.

Normally, the employees work from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. They have a flexible schedule, meaning the employee can manipulate or change their working hours to fit their preferences or other responsibilities outside of work. Lunch break time is also flexible. All employees have 24 days of vacation per year.

The company provides all employees with health insurance from the first day of work. After the trial period, team members can take out insurance for children with 50% compensation from the company and get a 50% discount on a gym membership.

The firm is concerned about the mental health of its employees, that’s why Mazars provides free psychological support services from the Wellbeing Company to employees and their relatives.

Yuliia Poznikhirenko,
HR Manager
We usually conduct a survey, which helps us identify factors that cause anxiety and concern among employees. In cooperation with the managers of the departments, we try to respond to requests and do everything possible to improve the well-being of our employees.

Entrepreneurial spirit is valued here

To understand the working atmosphere at Mazars, read about the four core values of this company and see if they resonate with you.

  1. Mazars is a global school of excellence. It provides opportunities for the development and training of specialists.
  2. Friends for life. There are a lot of examples within the company when colleagues became best friends and continued to be friends even after changing workplaces.
  3. Work of the future. Everyone uses modern technologies, automating, and changing traditional accounting processes.
  4. Entrepreneurial spirit is appreciated in employees and initiative is encouraged.

Once, the team members proposed to replace their human resources with ... robots!

The employee on the project had a monotonous technical job with routine repetitive tasks. At Mazars decided that people deserved to do more intellectual things, and suggested that their former functions be transferred to artificial intelligence. The project was implemented jointly by two offices: Ukraine and Kyrgyzstan.

If the specialists are ready to optimize processes and offer their ideas, the company will always support the initiative.

Mazarians are people of all ages

In all countries, Mazars employees are called mazarians. If you ask any employee what they like most about the company, the answer is likely to be: ‘The people’. They are always active, open-minded people of all ages who are happy to work together. There is no age limit at Mazars: the team includes both second-year students and people aged 50+. All of them are ready to share knowledge, learn, and teach.

Daryna Pater,
Consultant of the Accounting Outsourcing Department
I worked as a Chief Accountant for many years. I know from my previous experience and the experience of my friends that many employers have set a conditional upper age limit of 45 for candidates. On the one hand, the state protects the right to work for people of pre-retirement age, but on the other hand, this is not entirely true. I'm very pleased that Mazars evaluated me not by my age, but by my achievements.

Working at Mazars is more than just performing duties

The main holidays that are celebrated at Mazars are the two new years. No, not according to the old style or the Chinese calendar 🙂 The first celebration is at the end of the fiscal year in summer and another one is at the end of the calendar year in winter. Then Mazars gathers the entire Ukrainian team, organizes quizzes, and other activities.

After the start of a full-scale invasion, the format of the celebration changed. Donations and charity have become the main priorities.

At Mazars, everyone likes to spend their summer actively. They organize kart racing competitions, kayaking and dragon-boating on the Dnipro River, and bicycle quests. Even in the conditions of war, the company finds a way out: employees meet near shelters and organize team building. After all, despite the war and for the sake of victory, the company needs to maintain team spirit and mutual relations among team members in a formal and informal atmosphere.

The Mazars office is family and pet-friendly. During blackouts, employees often came to the company's office with their relatives. Children of employees are always welcomed in the firm because they do not only see what their parents do, but also can play Lego or find another activity to their preferences. Mazarians are also allowed to bring their pets to the office.

Mazars is actively involved in social projects and charitable initiatives to help military personnel and people affected by the war. They also help to educate young people with disabilities and support businesswomen who continue doing business despite the full-scale invasion.

The most athletically trained employees join the large-scale charity marathons of Wizzair and the Chestnut Run.

Anastasiia Hrushka,
Junior Digital Marketing Assistant
What I value most in the company is the desire to benefit society. We actively participate in various charity events, and it allows us to feel personal involvement in a noble cause. Even a small contribution matters.

Mazars participates in the reconstruction of Ukraine. The company actively promotes the idea of post-war transformation of the country in professional circles and does everything to gain even greater external support.

Mazars is on the way to sustainability

One of the company's priorities is nature protection. An important step for employees was the introduction of Green Office elements.

Thus, Mazars established cooperation with waste processing companies and began to sort waste responsibly. In addition, the company replaced household goods and some food products with ecological options and began to focus even more on energy saving. The next step is to reduce the carbon footprint of the workplace.

Oksana Chorniuk,
Office Manager
For Mazars, sustainability is not just a trend. We try to change the worldview of employees and inspire everyone to care about the environment outside of work. Nowadays, our employees consciously use resources and protect nature.

In April 2023, the Mazars team planted the Alley of Victory on Christer’s Hill. They created a beautiful place for recreation for Kyiv residents and contributed to air purification and oxygen enrichment.

Training and certification are at the expense of the company

Mazars has created training programs for specialists of all levels, so everyone knows what they should do and learn for career growth. The company always holds different workshops. The employees of all departments have an opportunity to undergo global training for several days once a year.

Mazars compensates the employees for expensive external specialized training: ACCA for auditors, CAP, DipIFR for accountants, as well as examination fees and membership fees to professional associations. Mazars has its own platform with online trainings for employees around the world and full access to LinkedIn Learning for training soft skills.

The firm also helps in learning English, which is essential for working in an international company. Mazars has partnered with an L&D solutions company whose teachers provide group lessons for different levels. The company covers 50% of the cost of classes.

Employment at Mazars

Most career opportunities at Mazars are for finance professionals. The company's largest departments are audit and accounting outsourcing. Accountants at Mazars are not only involved in accounting but also advise clients.

Mazars is ready to hire students and candidates without experience for entry-level positions. Those who are more experienced, but not necessarily in the same industry and type of the company, are offered to work on more advanced positions. For example, Mazars is ready to hire accountants who have not previously worked in consulting, or auditors who have worked not with all companies, but only with representatives of a certain industry.

The candidate selection process depends on the position. Here are the following steps for employing on junior positions and internships:

  1. CV;
  2. a complex test for 30 minutes, which checks knowledge of the English language and financial terminology;
  3. interviews (mostly online);
  4. job offer.
Pavlo Motsak,
Junior Auditor
I was a third-year student at Odesa National University of Economics when I started thinking about the possibilities of realizing myself within the framework of my speciality. It was 2021, and I was lucky enough to join a Mazars educational project for young talents. From the first day of the training, when the company's partner passionately told the participants about the audit and the process of organizing work at Mazars, I understood that this was the place where I wanted to work. Nowadays, I am a junior auditor in the company and continue studying the field of finance.

For managerial and senior positions, more advanced professional testing (for example, accounting knowledge), psychological testing, and an interview with the head of the department are added to the process of candidate selection.

Internship prepares junior specialists

Do you want to start working at Mazars? An excellent starting option is an internship. They take place in several departments at once: Audit, Accounting Outsourcing, and Taxes, as well as Support Functions (HR, Marketing, IT, and Administrative work).

The internship lasts 3–6 months and is full-time work in a team on a project. Those who have successfully completed an internship at Mazars become junior specialists, and the firm sends them job offers to work on appropriate positions in different departments. Most interns accept the firm’s job offers.

The first three months are with a buddy and a mentor

The first working day at Mazars is an introductory one. It is entirely devoted to organizational aspects. New employees get to know the company, its written and unspoken rules. HR and managers of the department help with this.

During the first three months, interns and juniors are accompanied by a buddy — an employee who voluntarily agreed to help the newcomer with organizational issues, and a mentor — a specialist who helps in professional development.

Mazars is a prime example of a company where an employee can build his/her career from a starting position to the manager of an entire cluster of countries. The main thing is desire, and the company guarantees support on the professional path.
