ORGANIZATIONAL OVERVIEW
FHI 360 is a US-based NGO dedicated to improving lives in lasting ways by advancing integrated, locally driven solutions. FHI 360’s Crisis Response team is responding to the humanitarian emergency with the 12-month Ukraine Humanitarian Assistance Response Program (UHARP), providing integrated health and protection programming focused on decreasing morbidity and mortality among the conflict-affected population.
Health sector activities will include identifying and filling critical needs at identified facilities with a particular focus on Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs), in close partnership with Oblast Departments of Healthcare. In areas where the health system may be overwhelmed due to sudden population movements, areas of former besiegement or areas that may be experiencing a potential infectious disease outbreak, FHI 360 will provide direct support to primary health care using mobile clinics, which will be mobilized when needed and upon request for support from national or sub-national health authorities. Additionally, to strengthen capacity for clinical care for cases of rape and sexual violence as well as improved integration of mental health support, the project will deliver training on WHO’s mental health Gap Action Program (mhGAP) and Clinical Management of Rape (CMR).
POSITION OVERVIEW
Under supervision of the Senior Health Officer, the Health Officer is responsible for developing and leading technical programming and plays a critical role in ensuring the organization’s emergency programming is responsive to the needs of conflict-affected populations in Ukraine. They will ensure health-related activities adhere to technical standards for the field and will support technical programs from assessment and conception through close-out and evaluation.
