Who We Are

At IREX we strive for a more just, prosperous, and inclusive world—where individuals reach their full potential, governments serve their people and communities thrive.

But around the globe, persistent poverty, repression, and injustice prevent too many people form achieving their full potential.  To address these problems, we focus on people, not on vaccines, roads, or wells. We support individuals and institutions to create change in their own communities—and to create person to person bridges between nations.

IREX works with partners in more than 100 countries in four areas essential to progress: cultivating leaders, empowering youth, strengthening institutions, and increasing access to quality education and information.

Through the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine, IREX administers the America House project, a network of welcoming, dynamic spaces in Kyiv, Odesa and Lviv that foster discussion and debate, provides opportunities for professional and personal skill building, and sparks creativity and collaboration around shared Ukrainian and U.S. values. America House Kyiv offers not only a physical space, but also a virtual hub, which facilitates access to balanced resources and information. Peer-to-peer cultural exchanges, discussions and learning at America House Kyiv provide visitors with a seat in “America’s living room.” For more detailed information about America House Kyiv please visit www.americahousekyiv.org.

The America House Program Assistant will work under the supervision of America House Program Manager, in close collaboration with all program team members. The America House Program Assistant is responsible for welcoming and helping visitors and partners, providing information on programs, resources and opportunities offered, assisting with organizing America House Kyiv events and other tasks to implement programs.

Performs additional duties and tasks to meet the needs of the organization, team, or as assigned by manager.
