Habitat for Humanity International seeks a dynamic and experienced Construction & Infrastructure Project Manager to lead the planning, implementation, and oversight of housing and infrastructure projects in Ukraine. The Project Manager will ensure projects are implemented efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards, providing essential support to vulnerable populations.
This position is to be based in Kyiv, Ukraine and requires 30% domestic and international travel.
The actual salary offered for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including internal equity and the candidate’s qualifications and professional experience. HFHI offers a competitive, comprehensive benefits package. The monthly gross pay starts at 88,280 UAH gross / month (the final remuneration will be determined based on the candidate’s competence and experience, along with applicable benefits.).
WHAT WOULD BE YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES?
Project Planning & Coordination:
- Lead technical planning, develop schedules, manage budgets, coordinate with architects/engineers, and oversee contractor selection and procurement.
- Collaborate with Program Manager to develop all project stages from feasibility to practical completion including project timelines, budgets, and work plans that align with organization’s strategic goals and donor requirements.
- Ensure that all technical designs and construction plans and management procedures meet safety, quality, and environmental sustainability standards.
Quality Assurance & Compliance:
- Implement quality control, monitor construction activities, ensure compliance with building codes and standards, and maintain high-quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.
Stakeholder Coordination & Engagement:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local partners, government authorities, and other stakeholders.
Risk Management & Safety:
- Identify and mitigate project risks, ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, and create a safe working environment for all personnel.
Capacity Building & Training:
- Provide technical guidance and training to staff, contractors, and partners on construction best practices and sustainable building methods.
Reporting & Documentation:
- Prepare detailed reports on project progress, challenges, and outcomes, and maintain accurate project records.
WHAT DO WE REQUIRE?
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction project management, housing development, or infrastructure projects, ideally in a humanitarian or development context.
- Minimum 3 years of experience managing a team
- Fluency in English and Ukrainian is a must
- Proven experience in overseeing construction and rehabilitation projects, including planning, budgeting, and managing teams of engineers and contractors.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, building techniques incl. energy- efficient technology, and engineering principles.
- Proficiency in construction scheduling and management software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit), site logistics, and cost estimation
- Familiarity with local building codes, safety standards, and international humanitarian construction standards.
- Experience in designing and implementing environmentally sustainable, energy-efficient housing solutions
- Excellent reporting and presentation skills
- Willingness to travel frequently within Ukraine and internationally
- Driving license and driving experience
