Producer-Correspondent at Hromadske International

Hromadske International is looking for a Producer-Correspondent!

Hromadske International, the English-language department of independent Ukrainian TV channel Hromadske TV, is looking for an experienced journalist (preferably with television experience) to join our small team.

What you will do:

• Write news in English
• Conduct video interviews/ make video reports
• Translate texts/ video scripts from Ukrainian or/and Russian
• Sometimes edit/ proofread texts
• Co-produce our weekly TV show

Requirements:

• English language: native or near-native proficiency
• Good understanding of Ukrainian or/and Russian language
• Minimum 2 years of journalism experience (television experience is desirable but not essential)
• Great understanding of Ukrainian and Eastern European politics
• Experience with social media management (desirable)
• Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Hromadske is one of the first successful public online broadcasters in Ukraine. Launched on the eve of some of the most tumultuous days in the country’s history, Hromadske became the go-to media for young Ukrainians — the place to gain a new perspective on events in the country. Hromadske is unique for Ukraine because it was founded, and is now controlled and run only by the journalists who work here. It is a publicly funded news project with no ties to Ukrainian state or business institutions. Hromadske International reports on politics and human rights issues in Ukraine and Eastern Europe.
