Position Summary

Momentum Wheels for Humanity seeks Program Support and an Interpreter to provide logistical and interpretation expertise for MWH’s portfolio of projects in Ukraine, inclusive emergency response projects designed to strengthen capacity for the provision of rehabilitation services relevant to the current conflict. Under the direction of the Ukraine Emergency Response Coordinator, the Program Support and Interpreter is responsible for extending logistical support and interpretation services to Momentum’s emergency response programming, building on ongoing country programs and accomplishments. Only candidates with work authorization in Ukraine will be considered; relocation benefits will not be provided.

Expected Duties and Responsibilities  

Reporting to the Ukraine Emergency Response Coordinator, the Program Support and Interpreter will be responsible for performing the following primary tasks:

Program Support Tasks

  • Assist in organizing training and other in-country activities, including identification of appropriate venues and preparation of required materials
  • Prepare agendas, participant lists, meeting minutes, any communication or other materials for events as required
  • Support sourcing and procurement of project supplies as needed and in line with donor rules and regulations and MWH policies and procedures; coordinate with programs team to put together purchase requisitions
  • Coordinate with the Finance and Admin Manager and Officer as needed to properly maintain and file relevant logistics documents associated with project activities
  • Identify and respond to programmatic and logistical needs, including facility needs and information communication and technology questions
  • Manage travel arrangements for in-country travel, including airfare, ground transportation, and accommodations as needed
  • Support travel arrangements for international travel to Ukraine, including ground transportation and accommodation as needed
  • Facilitate communication between relevant local and national agencies, institutions, NGOs, and other stakeholders to further project activities
  • Collect required monitoring and evaluation data; contribute to programmatic reporting and proposal development as needed
  • Work to ensure compliance with donor regulations and funding parameters in all aspects of activity implementation
  • Maintain project files and electronic data according to MWH policies and procedures
  • Provide other support as needed

Interpretation Tasks

  • Provide simultaneous or consecutive interpretation as needed during online and offline meetings, workshops, and other events
  • Translate project-related documentation as needed
  • Travel with project staff to the field for interpretation and other assistance as needed

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, including business administration, procurement, logistics, program management, or related field
  • At least two years of professional experience providing project-related logistical and interpretation support in a team environment on international technical assistance projects
  • Detail-oriented with good coordination, organization, and prioritization skills
  • Demonstrate analytical and administrative skills, as well as resourcefulness and initiative
  • Excellent computer skills with practical experience using Microsoft, Outlook, DropBox, and other computer applications
  • Fluency in Ukrainian, Russian, and English
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent written organization and drafting skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior work experience with an international technical assistance implementer in Ukraine
  • Understanding of national health systems for rehabilitation services and knowledge of Ukrainian health systems
  • Interpretation experience in rehabilitation or medical environment is highly desired
