Project Overview

Pact is recruiting a Communication Officer for FCDO-funded project Women Leading Response and Recovery in Ukraine. The goal of the project is to strengthen organizational, technical, adaptive and influencing capacities of WROs to lead a coordinated, gender-sensitive relief and recovery assistance and support the Women. Peace. Security (WPS) agenda in Ukraine.

Position Purpose

The Communication Officer will coordinate the creation and implementation of the communication strategy of the Project, describe and promote activities and achievements of partner women’s organizations.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop visual and multimedia products for the project outreach activities and event-related communications products.
• Support program media relation efforts by maintaining media database, drafting press releases and organizing media events.
• Maintain website content.
• Manage social media platforms.
• Lead the development of Stories of Change highlighting the work of partner organizations.
• Act as the focal point for the development and clearance of visual, written and multimedia products produced by project’s sub-grantees.
• Ensure that all communication products meet the visual identity requirements.

Qualifications:

• Exceptional writing and communications skills in Ukrainian and English;
• Copywriting/editing and content development;
• Infographic design;
• Graphic design, layout and video editing (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Premier Pro);
• Social media marketing;
• Email marketing (Mailchimp);
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, international relations, or a related field, Master’s degree preferred;
• Minimum 3 years of experience supporting an effective communication strategy
