Editor / Project Manager at TASCHEN

To strengthen our team of editors at our headquarters in Cologne, Germany, we are looking for a full-time Editor / Project Manager.

Key responsibilities:

• Independent project management of multilingual book publications, from the preparation of budgets and schedules to printing
• Punctual and efficient revision of our titles for new editions
• Coordination of reprints in our extensive backlist program
• Close cooperation with international authors, translators and freelancers, typesetters, designers, and printers in Germany and abroad
• Clearance of image, text, and artist copyrights, as well as the procurement of image material
• Internal coordination with the graphic and production departments

Candidate’s profile:

• Degree in the humanities or media sciences, preferably art history
• First professional experience in the publishing or media industry
• Ideally project management skills and experience
• Excellent communication skills
• Fluency in German and English, ideally also with a good command of French or Spanish
• Independent, structured, and precise, with a team-oriented approach to work
• Flexibility, ability to work under pressure, and a pragmatic, solutions-based approach
• Adherence to deadlines and ability to deal with time pressure
• Good computer skills (Acrobat, MS Office, InDesign)
• Interest in the subjects on which we publish
