Responsibilities:
The overall responsibility of Finance Officer will be the day-to-day financial transactions processing, accounting and archiving. And assisting the finance specialist in their tasks.
The Finance Officer is responsible for the following:
· Ensure daily data input into QuickBooks accounting system, prepare Journal Entries and record all transactions in the QB in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner.
· Control and verify that all payment transactions are assigned to the correct account codes, cost centers, budget codes and have the accurate and sufficient descriptions in the accounting system.
· Filing all entries and ensure that all required supporting documents are attached to each entry.
· Prepare balance sheet accounts schedules monthly, ensure they reconcile and advice for any corrections if needed.
· Assist the Finance Manager in the Month/Year end closing, booking & reconciliation of the prepayments, matching process, balance sheet clearing)
· Prepare bank and cash reconciliations, ensuring balances are tracked on daily basis.
· Keeping track of the Receivables balance, ensuring that advances are cleared in a timely manner.
· Keeping track of the Payables balance, ensuring that invoices are paid on time.
· Keeping track of fixed assets and run reconciliations.
· Process and reconcile travel claim for GC staff and provide assistance to staff on processes and documents.
· As assigned by the Finance Manager, preparing and follow daily payments, make the payments and supporting documents ready for the next level reviewer.
· As assigned by the Finance Manager, prepare wire transfers; ensure information is accurate, complete and posted in the online banking system.
· Update internal trackers as instructed by the Finance Manager.
· Ensure all tax schedules are paid in a timely manner.
· Assist in facilitating any donor site visit, external or internal audit.
· Provide general support if needed as directed by the Finance Manager.
Education and Training
Experience
· Knowledge of International Accounting Standards and local accounting practices in Ukraine.
· A minimum of 2 years’ experience in Finance and Accounting.
Technical skills
· High analytical and reporting skills.
· Excellent command of excel, MS office and other database applications.
Language skills
