IREX and Veteran Hub are pleased to invite you to the second online-conversation with U.S. veteran employment experts within the series of Hiring Heroes Ukraine discussions.

What will be?

During this session, you will learn:

  • how to design an effective program to pipeline more veterans into post-military careers;
  • how to successfully manage the growth of your programs;
  • what challenges American organizations faced in building an effective campaign for engaging and informing veteran-ready employers;
  • how to overcome common challenges and obstacles in growing veteran-employment programs and learn the takeaways American organizations have to share with others who are looking to create successful veteran employment initiatives.

There will be plenty of time for questions and discussion, so bring your questions about veteran employment to the event.

Who are the speakers?

Steph Drake is the Executive Director for NextOp, a nonprofit that helps veterans translate their exceptional military training into successful civilian careers. Steph is a Major in the Marine for Life Program, United States Marine Corps and serves as the Committee Chair of the Professional Growth Collaboration Committee, which brings together organizations who share a vision for supporting Veterans.

Jason Dozier is the Director of Program Operations and Evaluation for Hire Heroes USA. Jason oversees the operational backbone for Hire Heroes USA’s Programs department through managing relationships with business and nonprofit partners and providing data-driven analysis for identifying opportunities for improving Hire Heroes USA programs and processes. Jason is a 2015 alumnus of LEAD Atlanta, a 2016 Partner with the Truman National Security Project, and a 2016 Atlanta Business Chronicle 40 Under 40 honoree.

John Boerstler is the founder of Combined Arms, a nonprofit that works to unite the veteran and civilian communities and accelerate the impact veterans have on the cities they return to, by increasing the accountability, speed, and efficiency that veteran serving organizations deliver their services. With John’s involvement in Stand-To, he is working to build and scale the Combined Arms model for communities to use in order to ensure that no veteran ever falls through the cracks in social services again.

The event will be in English, with simultaneous translation into Ukrainian. To participate you need to register.
