Position Title: Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) Team Leader
Duty Station: Poltava, Ukraine
Classification: General Service Staff, Grade G7
Type of Appointment: Special Short-Term, Five months with the possibility of extension
Estimated Start Date: As soon as possible

Context:
Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission, and the Senior Programme Officer (MHPSS) and the direct supervision of the National MHPSS Officer, the successful candidate will coordinate the implementation of IOM’s Mental Health and Psychosocial Programme activities in different regions across Ukraine.
Core Functions / Responsibilities:
Coordinate a team consisting of a psychologist, social worker and social activities facilitator of IOM MHPSS community-based programme’s activities in Poltava city and oblast, ensuring equitable and appropriate allocation of tasks and responsibilities within the team, technical support and supervision of team members, as well as transparent and accountable use of allocated financial resources.
Assist the National MHPSS Officer and the programme management in the implementation and monitoring of project components.
Develop the team’s activity plan based on identified needs and ensure smooth implementation and monitoring of the plan’s progress.
Ensure accurate and timely reporting of activities by team members and liaise with relevant colleagues for troubleshooting.
Lead the technical supervision of teams on a day-to-day basis, identify training needs
of the teams, and support capacity-building efforts.
Maintain established coordination and partnership with other units, local authorities, civil society organizations, including local non-governmental organizations, faith-based organizations, women’s and youth groups, and parents and teachers’ associations, as they relate to the work of the team.
Identify potential implementing partners, engage in quality verification and supervision and monitoring of existing partners, including delivery of relevant trainings based on a capacity building plan.
Organize the maintenance of dedicated assets, materials and spaces, keeping inventory, attendance sheets, logbooks and simple administrative records.
Coordinate with the International Organization for Migration Ukraine’s Logistics and Procurement Unit on all issues related to the purchase of materials, contracting of team members and other logistic needs of the team.
Ensure proper visibility material is in place for the team’s activities.
Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in clinical, counselling, social or educational psychology, counselling, anthropology, mental health, humanities or social sciences with five years of relevant work experience; or
High school diploma or equivalent with at least seven years of relevant experience
Experience
Previous experience working on MHPSS programmes (required), with leadership roles (desirable).
Previous experience working with beneficiaries’ data management, reporting on project activities while respecting data protection and management guidelines (required)
Experience in community-based team supervision, monitoring and evaluation (desirable).
Experience working in accordance with the Interagency Standing Committee (IASC) guidelines on MHPSS in emergency settings (desirable).
Experience in representation, liaison with different government authorities at local level (desirable).
Skills
Communication skills with a wide range of people, including people of culturally diverse backgrounds.
Languages
Fluency in English and Ukrainian is required.
