Project Summary:

The Support to Anti-Corruption Champion Institutions (SACCI) Program in Ukraine is a six-year USAID initiative that has an objective to assist Ukraine to reduce corruption and increase the accountability and transparency of governance in Ukraine. The program seeks to empower key government institutions to fight corruption, build public support for and engagement in anti-corruption efforts, and reduce citizen tolerance to corruption. SACCI works with the wide spectrum of anti-corruption stakeholders, including the specialized anti-corruption bodies, governmental institutions at national and local levels, the private sector, and civil society watchdog organizations. SACCI seeks to promote transparency and accountability during the time of the Russia’s aggression and the Ukraine reconstruction efforts.

Position Summary:

The Program Assistant will be responsible for timely provision of program support (analytical, research and content drafting) to all program activities. The Program Assistant will ensure coordination and effective sharing of information and resources in-between all program branches and will work cooperatively with project staff, short-term associates, and partner organizations to contribute to the overall success of the SACCI program. The Program Assistant will also report directly to Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP) with the ultimate supervision of the Chief of Party (COP) and work closely with the entire SACCI team to plan, coordinate and track program support services and activities. This is a full-time position for the period of 10 months with possible extension.

Responsibilities:

Contribution To Team Cooperation 

  • Schedule, set up, and take notes for SACCI weekly staff meetings.
  • Assist the SACCI COP and DCOP in calendars coordinating, scheduling of appointments, conference calls, and meetings with partners and grantees.
  • Work closely with Operations department for arranging domestic and international flights, transportation, and accommodation for SACCI COP and DCOP.
  • Initiate and engage in field visits/site visits to SACCI partners and grantees to gather material for reporting, publicity, and promotional activities upon request.

Analytical Work and Knowledge Management

  • Assist the SACCI team in preparing the quarterly/annual report, etc.
  • Manage the SACCI program knowledge database and serve as the institutional memory of the project regarding locating information already produced.
  • Ensure facilitation of knowledge building and management.
  • Assist SACCI program staff with simple translations upon request.

Contribution To Public Events

  • Assist in designing presentations, speeches, and conduct other preparatory work for public events and engagements of SACCI team on the programmatic side.
  • Assist SACCI program staff by designing and organizing events, conferences, roundtables and meetings and design drafts of knowledge products as a result of these events.
  • Assist SACCI program staff with drafting agenda and the list of participants for public events, gather and provide to the SACCI Operations department contact details and other necessary information for arranging transportation and accommodation for participants of events.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Public Administration, Law or other relevant social sciences field is required.
  • Minimum two years of experience in managing communication with multiple stakeholders, state, non-governmental partners, and other donor organizations, maintaining coordination of information related to meetings, events, and assisting with organization of public events in Ukraine is required.
  • Experience with USAID-funded projects or other international technical assistance projects is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills to meet deadlines and oral and written communications skills are required.
  • Fluency in English and Ukrainian is required.
