Founded in 2011, the International NGO Safety Organisation (INSO) is an international non-governmental organisation that supports humanitarian aid workers by establishing safety coordination platforms in insecure contexts. INSO provides registered NGOs with a range of free services, including real-time incident tracking, analytical reports, safety-related data and mapping, crisis management support, staff orientations, and training.
INSO provides daily support to more than 1000 NGOs operating in the world’s most insecure countries.
INSO is headquartered in The Hague, Netherlands- the international city of peace and justice.
INSO Ukraine
INSO Ukraine opened in 2015. Since the escalation of the conflict in February 2022, it has rapidly expanded to a full platform serving the needs of NGOs in a fast-evolving conflict. Currently, more than 300 national and international NGOs receive INSO services. Our country office is in Kyiv, supported by field offices in Lviv, Dnipro, and Odesa. The scale and intensity of the Ukraine conflict have seen significant humanitarian safety challenges. As part of INSO Ukraine, you will play a key role in developing impactful services for humanitarian safety and helping aid reach people in need.
INSO is now seeking a Training Assistant based in Lviv.
Job Summary
As a Training Assistant – Research, you will support the INSO research project on Humanitarian Environment Individual Safety Training (HEIST), which aims to systematically explore how participating in the Humanitarian Environment Individual Safety Training (HEIST) facilitates learning and positively influences the sense of self-efficacy while prioritizing the psychological well-being of participants. By investigating the impact of HEIST, the project seeks to develop evidence-based recommendations to inform best practices in stress exposure training for the humanitarian sector. This includes examining the effectiveness of personal safety training, focusing on the sense of self-efficacy and task performance under stress, and assessing the psychological effects, both positive and adverse, of undergoing HEIST.
This role involves assisting in data collection, coordinating research activities, and supporting the analysis and evaluation of training outcomes, specifically focusing on self-efficacy, task performance, and psychological well-being. Your work will directly contribute to developing evidence-based recommendations for best practices in the humanitarian sector.
You will work as part of a 13-person team, collaborating closely to ensure the smooth delivery of training sessions.
This position is open to Ukrainian nationals only, reports to the Humanitarian Training Centre Manager (HTCM), and is based in Lviv.
