Senior Translation and Reporting Officer at IMPACT Initiatives

We are currently looking for a Senior Translation and Reporting Officer to lead our Reporting and Translation Team in Ukraine. The STRO will manage a team consisting of Translators and Designers to draft, translate, and design reports to on humanitarian needs assessments.

REACH Initiative is a unique humanitarian NGO, which provides research, data, and analysis to support more effective humanitarian intervention in crisis contexts. By providing precise and rigorous information on the humanitarian situation of crisis-affected populations in Ukraine, REACH informs better aid delivery and more transparent and reliable decision making. In Ukraine, REACH is hosted by our sister organisation, ACTED.

REACH is seeking an experienced candidate to oversee our Reporting and Translation Team, as Senior Translation and Reporting Officer. The ideal candidate should have excellent written English language skills, be comfortable translating products from English to Ukrainian and/or Russian, and will enjoy people management and capacity building.

The team is currently comprised of 5 staff with expertise in Translation and Design. Under the supervision of the IMPACT Deputy Country Coordinator, the STRO will be responsible for overseeing translation and presentation of visually appealing and clear products, including reports, presentations, factsheets, booklets and other materials as required. The STRO will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the team and for ensuring their staff have the information and skills to complete the work to a high standard.

REQUIREMENTS

• Academic Excellent academic qualifications in a relevant discipline;
• Management experience Previous experience managing a small team;
• Years of work experience 2 years of relevant working experience in translation, reporting, or other.
• Communication/reporting skills Excellent English communication and drafting skills for effective reporting;
• Familiarity with the aid system Familiarity with the aid system, and the research community is an asset;
• Cross-cultural work environment Ability to operate in a cross-cultural environment requiring flexibility.
• Language skills Fluency in English, Ukrainian and Russian is required;
• Software skills Proven knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
