Background

CESVI began its operations in Ukraine in 2022, providing humanitarian aid in response to the early stages of the war, with a significant presence in Bucha. Following the full-scale invasion, CESVI expanded its operations to multiple oblasts including Donetsk, Kharkiv, Kherson, Khmelnytsky, Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Poltava, Ternopil, Sumy, and Zaporizhzhia. Our comprehensive approach addresses the multifaceted needs of war-affected populations through psychosocial support, education, food distribution, protection, financial aid, and health services.

The ongoing conflict in Ukraine has profoundly affected the mental health of its population, with widespread exposure to trauma, displacement, and the breakdown of social and health support systems. Individuals with mental disorders are particularly vulnerable due to the lack of adequate rehabilitation, inclusion programs, and community-based support. The war has amplified the need to enhance mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) services, particularly for marginalized groups such as individuals living with psychiatric conditions.
